Generative compositions represent textures of a playground through layered mapping

This studio project explores novel ecosystems through a cross-disciplinary design practice informed by sympoeisis, or “creating with” the natural world.

Texture maps are image-based narratives created by documenting natural textures in 10 locations at a local park. Each composition is created by using a map that represents various “paths” determined by where the texture is located within the playground. Each print is created by layering texture, generating compositions that look different each time.

Prints, matte finish.
