Specularity—Superfluidity

MFA Thesis Proof of Concept, book production, and exhibition

Based on the idea of specularity—the state of resembling a mirror—the mirror can be understood as a multidimensional form, metaphor, and artifact to investigate the next inevitable steps in the evolution of human-computer interaction/interface. By questioning our pre-existing relationship with and assumptions about technology, we allow designers of the future to depart from designing for seamlessness to designing for Superfluidity.

Visual identity concept for a point-of-entry project to promote a local gallery. Developed a new visual language and logomark for GalleryBQE, a community-driven street art gallery under the BQE.

Texture Maps for NYC Parks

Cross-disciplinary studio project

A studio project exploring novel ecosystems through a cross-disciplinary design practice informed by sympoeisis, or “creating with” the natural world.

Texture maps are image-based narratives documenting natural textures in 10 locations at a local park. Each map shows various “paths” created by layering texture, generating compositions that look different each time.
